      • Mason County Office of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Board and Oakview Medical Care Facility (OMCF) Meetings are open to the public.

        MDHHS portion of the meeting will be held at 9:00 a.m. at 915 Diana St., Ludington, MI 49431.

        The Oakview Medical Care Facility will be held immediately following the MDHHS portion and will take place at 1001 Diana St., Ludington, MI 49431

        All members of the public who will be attending will need to be screened for COVID-19 before entering the building.

  • 7:00 PM Planning Commission
    • The Mason County Planning Commission will be meeting in the Mason County Central High School Gymnasium at 7:00 pm. The following request will be reviewed:

      DTE Electric Company has requested text amendments to the Zoning Ordinance. The proposed amendments are summarized as follows:

      1.Utility Grid Solar Energy Systems.  The proposed amendments would amend the existing provisions of the Zoning Ordinance for Utility Grid Solar Energy Systems, and would address the matters summarized below.

       

      2.Special Land Use in AG District.  The proposed amendments would amend Section 5.03 to add Utility Grid Solar Energy Systems as an approvable special land use in the AG District.

       

      3.Special Land Use Regulations.        The proposed amendments would amend Section 17.72, the regulations for Utility Grid Solar Energy Systems, in relation to the following principal matters: maximum lot coverage; setbacks from wetlands, property lines and residential dwellings; field tile replacement; maximum sound levels; decommissioning; and, location and siting. With regard to location and siting, the proposed amendments would eliminate the requirements that (a) a proposed System be located within three miles of a substation, and (b) a System not be located on property enrolled in PA 116.
