Board of Appeals
The Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) interprets the zoning map and ordinance text as needed and grants variances from provisions of the Mason County Zoning Ordinance. The ZBA also conducts hearings and hears appeals regarding decisions of the Zoning Administrator or the Planning Commission.
2024 ZBA Meeting Schedule: The ZBA holds meetings on the first and third Wednesday of the month at 4:30pm at 102 E. 5th Street in Scottville. The Zoning Board of Appeals meets on an as needed basis. Please call (231) 757-9272 ahead to verify the schedule.
Submission Deadlines: Variance applications must be received a minimum of three weeks prior to the date of the public hearing.
